Rhode Island man accused in police car theft, high speed chase due in Conn. court
NEW LONDON, Conn. (WLNE) — The man accused of stealing a Rhode Island police cruiser and driving into Connecticut is due in court Tuesday morning.
Police say 27-year-old Jared Remson stole that cruiser outside of Rhode Island Hospital’s emergency room in January.
Remson then allegedly took police on a chase that ended in Ledyard, Connecticut.
Connecticut State Police say they were able to stop Remson, after using spike strips to pop the tires of the cruiser.
Remson was arraigned and held on $20,000 bail.
Now, he will face a judge in New London District Court for an extradition hearing.
Remson is now charged in Rhode Island for allegedly stealing the cruiser.
