Trayvon Martin remembered on 30th birthday
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Today in black history, we’re remembering Trayvon Martin on what would have been his 30th birthday.
Trayvon Martin was shot and killed when he was just 17 years old.
He was gunned down by a neighborhood watch volunteer in Florida in 2012, a tragic incident that was watched across the country, and ultimately led to the start of the Black Lives Matter movement.
Martin’s mother, Sybrina Fulton posted on Twitter today writing, “Happy heavenly birthday to my son, sunshine. I will always love you. ”
