Suspect arrested in armed robbery of Fall River coffee shop

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — Fall River police responded to reports of an armed robbery of a city coffee shop Tuesday, resulting in the arrest of one suspect after a brief foot chase.

Tyrese Ray, 21, was arrested and charged with armed robbery and vandalism after the incident at Brazilian Coffee Shop on Pleasant Street.

Ray is accused of committing the robbery while brandishing a knife.

Shortly after the call came in, a Fall River detective driving on Pleasant Street observed a male matching the description of the suspect walking quickly and behaving suspiciously.

The male fled the scene after sirens were heard.

Officers chased the suspect on foot and arrested Ray without incident.
