Crews battle mobile home fire in Richmond

RICHMOND, R.I. (WLNE) — The Richmond-Carolina Fire District said it battled a mobile home fire on Wednesday afternoon.

Around 4:34 p.m., crews were sent to the Hillsdale Mobile Home park on Gardiner Road for reports of a mobile home fire.

Police first arrived at the scene and reported seeing smoke and that nobody was in the structure.

When crews arrived, they battled the fire and conducted a secondary search of the building.

According to officials, the flames were contained to the room it originated in.

Crews from Hope Valley, Exeter, West Kingston, and Ashaway, assisted with the fire, as well as the Rhode Island fire marshal.

Nobody was injured.

The fire remains under investigation.
