Seal sneaks a nap in traveler’s hotel room
VLISSINGEN, Netherlands (WLNE) — Surprise animal encounters are nothing new in the phone camera/social media age, but the human who hits record is usually on the animal’s turf.
The roles were reversed in the town of Vlissingen in the Netherlands recently, when a traveler returned to their hotel room to find a seal sound asleep on the floor, as reported by ABC News.
The guest at Pier 7 called the staff about the intrusion, and animal rescue personnel were notified and arrived to take the “grumpy” seal home.

A Facebook post from animal rescue group Dierenwelzijn Zeeland shows the agitated seal returned to a local beach.
