Buttonwood Park Zoo mourning loss of Atlantic Harbor seal
NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — Buttonwood Park Zoo announced the passing of Atlantic Harbor seal Blue on Feb. 5.
The zoo said Blue had been under veterinary care and observation since Jan. 31 due to decreased appetite and frequent resting at the top of the pool in his habitat.
A conclusive diagnosis could not be determined before his death, and results from a necropsy were being waited for.
The zoo was closed on Wednesday to allow staff members to mourn, and would be reopened on Feb. 7.
