Westport Police arrest man on narcotics, suspended license charges

WESTPORT, Mass. (WLNE) — The Westport Police Department said that it arrested a man for allegedly driving without a license and possessing multiple types of narcotics.
Walter Brewster Gomes was charged with one count of trafficking a controlled substance (Class B) and possession of a controlled substance (Class E), alongside motor vehicle offenses.
Gomes was pulled over on State Road after an officer allegedly saw his vehicle did not have a license plate, and told police that he did not have a license.
The department said that Gomes’ license was suspended, and that a search allegedly found one bag of suspected crack cocaine weighing 31 grams, one bag of suspected cocaine weighing 29 grams and one bag of suspected Adderall pills.
