Driver in deadly Woonsocket pedestrian crash out on bond, not allowed to drive
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The driver accused of hitting and killing a 4-year-old child in Woonsocket is now out on bond this morning.
William Laureano-Benitez turned himself in to police following the deadly crash last month outside of Hamlet Middle School.
4-year-old Eliza Khan sustained serious injuries and died the next day at Hasbro Children’s Hospital.
Her mother, 34-year-old Dena Khan was seriously injured.
Laureano-Benitez is charged with two counts of driving to endanger, one resulting in death and one resulting in serious injury for both victims.
He was arraigned Thursday.
The condition of his release is he’s not allowed to drive.
