Pawtucket man arrested for allegedly fleeing the scene of a pedestrian crash

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — The Pawtucket Police Department said a man was arrested Friday for allegedly leaving the scene of a crash involving a pedestrian.

26-year-old Ailton Vaz was charged with two counts of leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in personal injury.

The department said that Vaz was arrested after turning himself into a neighboring department.

Police added that both victims of the crash were expected to recover.
