Providence firefighter suffers ‘minor injuries’ after being trapped between 2 vehicles
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence Fire Department said a firefighter suffered minor injuries after being trapped between a fire engine and a parked car early Sunday morning.
The department said the firefighter was acting as a spotter for a fire engine that was unable to ascend Ames Street after returning from a service call.
The engine slid and trapped the firefighter between two vehicles.
The department said the firefighter was freed using a low-pressure air bag system, and received only minor injuries and was discharged from the hospital a few hours after the incident.
