Warwick Police say man arrested after allegedly robbing bank
WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — The Warwick Police Department said a man was arrested after allegedly robbing a bank on Wednesday.
39-year-old David Rogers was charged with second-degree robbery.
Around 3:40 p.m., police were dispatched to Bank Rhode Island on Jefferson Boulevard for a hold-up alarm.
According to police, the suspect entered Bank Rhode Island and supposedly handed the teller a note that demanded cash.
The teller gave the defendant about $1,000, according to Warwick police.
Rogers then allegedly fled the scene in an unlicensed vehicle.
During the investigation, police identified the suspect as Rogers, who was then taken into custody without incident in Providence.
Rogers is set to be arraigned at the Kent County Courthouse on Feb. 13.
