Massachusetts State Police chase suspect after police cruiser is stolen

BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE)- Massachusetts State Police were in pursuit of an armed robbery suspect who stole a police cruiser on Friday morning.

Police said that the Rockland Police cruiser was stolen in Rockland after the alleged robbery of a 7/11.

The suspect was chased by police all the way to Burgin Parkway and Route 3 in Quincy, according to police.

Officers had surrounded the suspect on I-93, but he managed to escape.

Police again surrounded the suspect at a BJ’s gas station in Quincy.

State police attempted to negotiate with the suspect at the gas station. The negotiation ended with an officer-involved shooting the suspect.

The suspect was extracted from the vehicle by police, given first aid by medics on scene, and then transported to a local hospital where he later died.
