Taunton Police arrest 3 men, seize large drug supply

TAUNTON, Mass. (WLNE) — The Taunton Police Department said that it arrested three men in connection with a safe and firearm burglary and allegedly seized a large drug cache.

36-year-old Jonathan Hatch and 37-year-old Dewayne Leo Rodrigues were both charged with breaking and entering in the daytime for a felony, larceny from a building, larceny of a firearm, cocaine trafficking (more than 36 grams, less than 100 grams), fentanyl trafficking (more than 10 grams), and methamphetamine trafficking (less than 200 grams), while 34-year-old Kurt Vachon was charged with breaking and entering in the daytime for a felony, larceny from a building, and larceny of a firearm.

A burglary on Winthrop Street was reported on Jan. 13 in which $50,000 in cash and two firearms were stolen from a safe in a residence.

The three men were arrested after search warrants were issued in connection with the burglary.

Police also alleged that during a search of a vehicle owned by Hatch they found $25,100 in cash, 90 grams of cocaine, 109 grams of small blue pills believed to be pressed fentanyl, and 159 grams of small orange/pink pills believed to be pressed methamphetamine.

Brittany Devine, the victim of the burglary, said that she did not receive the safe or the items that were in it, and that Hatch previously worked for her at her company, Devine Fence.
