Providence man arrested as part of operation targeting potential child predators

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force said a Providence man was arrested as part of Operation: Anvil Strike, a “multi-day targeted online undercover operation to identify individuals engaged in online sexual exploitation of children,” that took place in October 2024.

35-year-old Thomas Angelina was charged with one count of use of communications systems to facilitate certain offenses involving children and nine counts of use of communications systems to facilitate certain offenses involving children, second or subsequent offenses.

Angelina was charged and extradited for prosecution in Bedford County, Virginia by Providence police.

Five other men were also arrested as part of the operation; one from New York, one from Georgia, one from Missouri, one from Florida, and one from South Carolina.
