Suspect in multi-city RI, Mass. high-speed chase to face a judge

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — 36-year-old Andrew Fernandez is due in court for his arraignment Monday morning after high-speed pursuit Friday morning in Woonsocket.

The chase started around 8:20 a.m. and went through several cities, from Woonsocket to North Smithfield, then Lincoln, to North Providence, Providence and in and out of Massachusetts.

Fernandez was eventually apprehended by Providence police and turned over to the Woonsocket department.

He’s facing multiple charges including domestic stalking, domestic cyber stalking, felony violation of no-contact orders, high-speed pursuit, obstruction and driving with an expired license.

Fernandez is currently held at the Adult Correctional Institutions and is expected to appear in court Monday morning.
