Rep. Sanchez due in court for DUI charge Monday

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — State representative Enrique Sanchez is due back in court Monday.

Sanchez, a Providence Democrat, was arrested on February 3 in Cranston after being accused of driving under the influence.

Body camera footage shows Cranston officers stop Sanchez at a Reservoir Avenue traffic light.

Police said Sanchez was not moving when the light was green.

He’s due in Kent County District Court for driving under the influence, a misdemeanor charge.

He’s also facing two charges in traffic court, including refusing to submit a chemical test and obedience to traffic control.
