Rhode Island Football Club offering 400 jobs ahead of new stadium opening
PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Football Club hosted a job fair at its headquarters Monday, offering upwards of 400 new jobs to the city of Pawtucket.
“From the team’s standpoint, the ownership’s standpoint, that’s been one of those things we talk about a lot. This is soccer and more,” RIFC President David Peart said. “This is that more component.”
From concessions to security to ticketing, among other categories, job seekers are eager to work at The Stadium at Tidewater Landing.
“The community is getting bigger and getting better,” Providence resident Nate Holloway said. “As a result I would love to be a part of it.”
Holloway was one of many job seekers hoping to walk away with a new job.
“It feels great to know we finally have a home that we can call home,” Holloway said.
The stadium will be able to host over 10,000 people and be the home for not only soccer games, but also other events.
“The stadium overall is a versatile space so we are able to make everything work,” Tidewater Landing Stadium General Manager Paul Byrne said. “We aim to be open year-round.”
Governor McKee said he’s excited to have a new venue in the city, especially as Rhode Islanders are saying their final goodbyes to the iconic McCoy Stadium.
“It’s a reflection and making sure that Pawtucket or these communities that really we need to stand by which we didn’t do in the Pawtucket Red Sox situation,” McKee said. “We need to stand with the communities that are willing to have these investments that are not only helping their economy but also bringing positive energy to the community.”
RIFC’s home opener for the 2025 USL Championship at the newly constructed stadium is set for Saturday, May 3 at 4 p.m.
