Providence: Police investigate after person struck and killed by train

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A person was struck and killed by a train in Providence Thursday morning, according to Providence police.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m. and police were called to the scene in the Westminster-Valley Street area. 

Amtrak Police are handling the investigation into the death and the Rhode Island Medical Examiner was also at the scene, according to Providence police.
