McKee announces re-election bid for 2026
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — It’s official; Governor Dan McKee has announced his bid for re-election.
McKee first became governor back in 2021, with his previous role as the Lieutenant Governor changed once governor Gina Raimondo left in the middle of her term to become the U.S. commerce secretary for the Biden administration.
McKee won the gubernatorial election back in 2022 as the Democratic representative.
His re-election team released a campaign ad over the weekend.
McKee currently remains unopposed, and former republican gubernatorial nominee Ashley Kalus posted she might run against governor McKee again.
Kalus posted her interest on Twitter, citing her viewpoints on the state’s decision to not investigate governor McKee regarding the ILO Group matter last October.
