Overnight road work scheduled for portion of Mendon Road in Cumberland

CUMBERLAND, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Transportation and the Cumberland Police Department said a portion of Mendon Road will be closed overnight for steel beam replacement.

Mendon Road, also known as Route 122, will be closed from the Interstate-295 South on/off ramp to the I-295 North on/off ramp, according to RIDOT.

The road work will run Sunday through Thursday 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

During the overnight road work, there will be a signed detour for traffic.

Additionally, there will be a lane reduction on Route 295 at Mendon Road.

The Cumberland Police Department is asking residents to seek alternative routes in the meantime.
