MBTA releases South Coast Rail spring/summer schedule
FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The MBTA has released the full spring/summer schedule for the South Coast Rail line, which is set to open on March 24.
The MBTA said that there will be 15 direct trips on the Fall River line and 17 direct trips on the New Bedford Line, with a total of 32 trips between South Station and East Taunton, as well as 26 trips between South Station and East Taunton on the weekends.
Trains will run every 70 minutes on weekdays and every 2 hours on the weekends.
“Passengers are reminded that the Middleborough/Lakeville Commuter Rail Line will be renamed the Fall River/New Bedford Commuter Rail Line when service begins on March 24,” the MBTA said.
In addition, there will be free weekend service and parking from March 29 through April 27.
