Rain Moves Out, Wind Moves In

Thursday Morning Forecast

Hopefully you got some sleep to the tune of our heavy rain overnight! This morning, rain has tapered off and we’re left with clouds, some fog, and a bit of mist and drizzle. Take it easy behind the wheel as patchy fog could limit visibility in spots.

Temperatures start out in the upper 40s and low 50s– high temperatures don’t budge much from there, with most of us between 50-56 degrees for your highs! With a mostly cloudy sky, it won’t look picture perfect, but it’s not a bad day for a lunch-break walk considering the mild air. That said, this evening will be less pleasant as the winds kick up dramatically. We have a Wind Advisory in effect from 7 PM Thursday through 7 PM Friday for most of southern New England as gusts could get up to 50 mph. We also have a High Wind Warning for parts of the Berkshires and Worcester County, MA, as gusts could get up to 60 mph for the same time period.

Aside from the wind that will continue on Friday, we’ll have more sunshine. High temperatures will only be in the low to mid 40s– pretty average for this time of  year, but clearly not as mild as the recent stretch has been.

We keep the sunshine around on Saturday, and while it won’t be quite as windy as Friday, it’ll still be pretty windy with gusts up to about 45 mph. Highs will be in the low 40s.

The wind finally dies down on Sunday. It’ll be a little breezy at times, but nowhere near what we’re anticipating Thursday-Saturday. Highs will remain in the low to mid 40s.

If you’re missing the mild air by that point, don’t worry! We’ll see a warming trend as we start the next workweek, with temperatures climbing back into the upper 40s/low 50s by Monday afternoon. We’re also watching for a quick clipper system (a small, but potentially punchy storm) that may try to squeeze by on Monday. Should it come our way, we can expect a few showers. We’ll keep you posted as we move through the weekend!
