A cold and blustery day

A strengthening storm center is drifting northward across Nova Scotia today is resulting in potentially damaging wind gusts up to 50 mph. Despite the fair supply of sunshine, temperatures will be quite a bit colder than yesterday with highs only in the low 40s. The wind will ease a little bit overnight as lows fall into the low 30s, but wind chills will be in the teens.

This storm will remain stalled over Eastern Canada through the weekend, keeping conditions windy and mostly on the dry side, except for a brief (30-40minutes) flurry possible around 11 AM tomorrow as a weak trough of Low pressure races through the region. As the sky clears for the afternoon highs will struggle to reach 40°.  As that storm finally drifts further away Sunday the wind will relax and temperatures will return to normal, mid 40s.

Also, don’t forget to turn you clocks ahead 1 hour Saturday night to Daylight Saving Time.

A weak Alberta Clipper will bring some spot rain shower Monday morning, but the moisture associated with this system looks limited and by the afternoon highs will climb to near 50. That warming trend will continue through midweek with highs likely hitting 60° on Wednesday!
