CCRI lockdown suspect faces multiple felony charges

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A Woonsocket man accused of bringing weapons onto the Community College of Rhode Island campus in Lincoln faced a judge today.

According to police, 48-year-old Junior Sage was arrested Thursday on CCRI’s campus with an airsoft-style pistol and two pocket knives.

A judge ordered him to undergo a mental health evaluation and stay away from CCRI’s campus.

Sage is facing multiple charges including six felonies.

That includes possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, carrying a pistol without a license, three counts of felony assault, disorderly conduct and obstructing a police officer.

Sage’s case will now go to superior court with the next court date set for June.
