East Bridgewater Police say elderly woman is suffering life-threatening injuries after crash

EAST BRIDGEWATER, Mass. (WLNE) — The East Bridgewater Police Department said a woman was taken to the hospital with “life-threatening injuries” after she crashed her vehicle into a tree, which then caught on fire.
On March 8, around 11:48 a.m., police and crews were dispatched to the area of 260 West Street for a crash.
Prior to their arrival, police said Good Samaritans, including a nurse, pulled an unconscious 83-year-old woman from the vehicle, and gave “life-rendering cardiopulmonary resuscitation” to the victim.
When paramedics arrived, they took over and provided aid to the patient, who was taken to Boston Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Further investigation shows the vehicle was driving eastbound on West Street when it crossed into the other side of the road and left the roadway, striking a utility pole, crashing into a tree, and catching fire.
