Papitto Opportunity Connection awards $1 million to Amos House to expand healthcare services

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Papitto Opportunity Connection said it awarded The Clinic at Amos House a $1 million grant to expand healthcare services.

The non-profit said it plans for the grant to make behavioral health and primary care services more accessible to those in the criminal justice system and people in recovery.

Since the Clinic opened in 2024, it has helped patients with mental health and substance abuse counseling, psychiatric care, and other medical services, according to the POC.

Additionally, the POC said it provides health and medical care to people that struggle with health insurance.

“Over the years, Amos House has developed holistic programming that offers RI’s most vulnerable residents the resources and supports they need to pursue a pathway to stability and wellness. For our community, healthcare access has been the missing link in our services. With the development of The Clinic, people with barriers to care can now access health care in a space where they feel safe, understood, and comfortable,” Amos House President and CEO Eileen Hayes said.
