East Providence to hold St. Patrick’s Day celebration

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Today is Saint Patrick’s Day, and while many local cities and towns may have gotten an earlier start on celebrations, East Providence will celebrate Monday.

East Providence Mayor Bob DaSilva will host a celebration and flag raising Monday morning.

The Kelly School of Irish Dance will perform, as will bagpiper Bruce Hutchings.

Mayor DaSilva will also raise the flag of Ireland at the event that kicks off at 11:30 a.m. at city hall.
