Wareham police investigate armed robbery of town restaurant

WAREHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — The Wareham Police Department is seeking public assistance in identifying an armed robbery suspect who held up a town restaurant at gunpoint Saturday.

The incident occurred at China Chef on Depot Street in Wareham just before midnight Saturday, where a male wearing all black clothing and a bandana over his face pointed a revolver at staff and stole an undetermined amount of cash.

The suspect reached over the counter and took the money before fleeing on foot, according to Wareham police.

An extensive search of the area using a Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department K-9 was unable to locate the suspect.
