Crews battle house fire in Fall River, Rock Street shut down
FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Fall River Fire Department said crews are battling a house fire on Locust Street.
Around 2:45 p.m., the department received a report of a fire at a home on Locust Street.
Upon arrival, crews reported heavy flames in the back of the home.
Officials said crews were initially inside the home, but were taken out.
Fall River Fire Chief Jeffrey Bacon said the home was built in 1848 and has lots of void spaces and old timbers that forced the firefighters to be evacuated for safety.
No injuries have been reported.
Multiple dogs were inside the home, however there is no word yet on the status of the pets.
Rock Street has been shut down as crews battle the house fire.
ABC6 News crews on scene reported seeing flames breaking through the roof of the home on Locust Street.
