Fall River Police investigate report of armed person, local school held shelter in place

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Fall River Police Department said the Henry Lord School held a shelter in place out of precaution while police investigated a report of an armed person in the area Tuesday.

Fall River police said the report claimed the individual had a gun in his waistband in the area of Amity Street, which is nearby the school.

An officer was dispatched to the school, and police said the individual did not step foot on school grounds.

The shelter is place was held while police made sure the area and neighborhood was safe.

Fall River police said there is no threat to students.
