Reed, Hillary Clinton react to war plan text leak

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — After the story of DOD war plans being discussed in a group text that included a journalist originally broke Monday afternoon, Senator Jack Reed, the ranking member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, released a statement on the “breach of operational security.”

Reed called it “one of the most egregious failures of operational security and common sense” he has ever seen.

Reed went on to say, in part:

Military operations need to be handled with utmost discretion, using approved, secure lines of communication, because American lives are on the line. The carelessness shown by President Trump’s cabinet is stunning and dangerous.

Reed promised further investigation.

President Donald Trump’s former opponent former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, has weighed in on the story.

Clinton’s handling of a private email server was one of the main topics in the 2016 presidential election.

Former Secretary Clinton posted on Twitter, “You have got be be kidding me,” also linking to the story in the Atlantic.
