RISP investigating human remains discovered in Foster

FOSTER, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island State Police are investigating a wooded area in Foster Thursday after a report of human remains, according to the Rhode Island State Police.

State police responded to the area Wednesday at approximately 5 p.m.

The discovery was initially reported to Foster police by a local resident.

The remains belong to a female of an unknown age, and the circumstances of her death are considered suspicious.

The investigation is still in its preliminary state, according to RISP.
