McKee says $220 million in federal funds secured for Washington Bridge reconstruction
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Gov. Dan McKee made an announcement Thursday afternoon that said that federal funds had been secured for the remainder of the reconstruction of the Washington Bridge.
McKee said that $220 million was secured with the help of the state’s congressional delegation, who said that the funding was awarded by the Biden administration but frozen by the Trump administration due to the latter nationwide spending freeze.
The delegation added that the state now has access to the first $30 million of the unfrozen funds.
