State police, Brockton police investigating fatal shooting

BROCKTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Massachusetts State Police and Brockton police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Friday morning.

The incident occurred on Lenox Street at approximately 3:31 a.m., according to the office of Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz.

Brockton police responded to a 911 caller who said that they heard gunshots outside their home and saw someone lying face down on the sidewalk.

The male victim was located by Brockton police and emergency medical personnel and was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The victim is not being identified at this time.

Early indications suggest that the incident was not a random act of violence, and the investigation is ongoing.
