Part of street in Providence to close for Washington Bridge demolition
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Transportation said that part of Gano Street in Providence will be closed on March 29 and March 30 for demolition of the Washington Bridge pier.
The area at the Interstate 195 overpass will be closed from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. and a signed detour for motorists and pedestrians will be in place.
RIDOT added that from March 31 to April 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. alternating lane closures will be at the same location.
Pedestrian access will be maintained, and the on-ramp from Gano Street to I-195 West will remain open at all times.
