Person dies after being pinned by falling tree

WEST WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — The West Warwick Fire Department said a person died after a tree fell on them and pinned them to the ground on March 28.

Firefighters responded to Clyde Street around 4 p.m. to find a male lying unresponsive with a large tree on top of his body.

The department removed the tree from the man and he was declared dead on scene.

The Rhode Island Medical Examiner’s Office was called and transferred the body to its facility.
