Neronha joins several states in suit against Trump voter proof of citizenship order
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha has joined other state AGs in a lawsuit against the Trump administration.
This suit is over the president’s executive order implementing proof of citizenship requirements and changing the way states count ballots.
In a statement, AG Neronha said the executive order would “require documentary proof of citizenship, which millions of American citizens do not have, and would invalidate votes legally cast by Rhode Island military members residing abroad.”
