PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Historic Militia and Kingston Reds reenacted the state’s Lexington Alarm March on Sunday.

The alarm was a call for volunteers in 1775 that British soldiers were gathering in Massachusetts, and led to the battles of Lexington and Concord.

The city said the reenactment was the beginning of a series of celebrations of the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution.
