Johnston man arrested by State Police on multiple warrants
JOHNSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — The Johnston Police Department said Rhode Island State Police arrested a man for reckless driving as well as on warrants out of both Johnston and Providence.
28-year-old Derek Paolucci was charged by state police with felony assault and/or battery, reckless driving, disorderly conduct, an affidavit and arrest warrant for reckless driving out of Johnston, and an affidavit and arrest warrant for possession of a firearm out of Providence.
He was charged by Johnston police with speeding, overtaking on the right, time of signaling turn, and turn signal required.
Johnston police said his arrest was due to an alleged incident on Dec. 16, 2024 when he was pulled over on Greenville Avenue.
Police said Paolucci fled from the traffic stop and was pursued onto Interstate 295 before it was terminated.
He was also presented in court as a probation violator.
