WaterFire Providence announces 2025 lightings to celebrate 30 years of tradition

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — WaterFire Providence has announced its 2025 season of full and partial lightings, set to begin with a full lighting in May.

The first lighting will be on Saturday, May 31, with the season starting with a Starts at Sunset event on May 15.

The season so far will be comprised of six full lightings, two partial lightings and four Starts at Sunset lightings on the Michael S. Van Leesten Memorial Bridge.

“As we celebrate 30 years of WaterFire, we are grateful to the sponsors, community partners, and supporters who have helped sustain this tradition in Providence,” said Ed Cabral, Director of Sponsorships and Corporate Relations at WaterFire Providence.
