Defense dog expert called into question by Karen Read prosecutor

DEDHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — Several motions are being discussed Wednesday in Dedham at a pre-trial hearing for Karen Read’s murder case.

Judge Beverly Cannone started with the defense’s request for a forensic copy of video from Canton’s police department garage.

According to our Boston affiliate WCVB, Cannone previously denied that request.

Special prosecutor Hank Brennan is also discussing his concerns about the defense’s dog expert, Garrett Wing.

Brennan claims Wing is not a certified dog trainer and has never testified in court.

Opening statements are scheduled for next Tuesday, April 22.
