Providence crews recover body from Woonasquatucket River
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence Police Department said a body was found in a river on Wednesday.
Around 5:30 p.m., police and fire crews responded to a report of a body in the Woonasquatucket River near Delaine Street.
At the scene, firefighters removed the body of a man from the river.
Providence police said “the incident does not appear to be suspicious,” and officers are looking to identify the man.
The body was turned over to the Medical Examiners Office.
