Market Street in Warren blocked off, telephone pole in road from crash

WARREN, R.I. (WLNE) — The Warren Police Department said Market Street is blocked off due to a vehicle collision.

According to the Warren Police Department, a vehicle crashed into a telephone pole.

The telephone pole then snapped and blocked off the road. Additionally, the wires attached to the telephone were impacted and caused a loss of power to nearby buildings.

Warren police said there were minor injuries on scene but nobody was taken to the hospital.

Power has since been restored to all except one business.

While the road is blocked off, Warren police advise residents to detour onto Old Market Street.

Officials said the accident was caused by a mechanical issue with a vehicle.
