Driver in critical condition after motorcycle crash in Attleboro

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) — A motorcyclist is in critical condition after a crash on Highland Avenue Tuesday, according to police.
Police responded to the entrance of the South Attleboro Square shopping plaza just before 1 p.m. Tuesday.
They found that a minivan and motorcycle had collided, police said.
Investigators spoke to witnesses, who said the minivan made a sudden left turn before the collision, according to police.
The motorcycle operator, identified only as a 65-year-old man, was taken to Rhode Island Hospital to be treated, police said.
The driver of the minivan, identified only as an 80-year-old man, is cooperating with the investigation and was given a traffic citation, police said.
Highland Avenue was shut down in the area for 45 minutes for investigation, but has since reopened.
UPDATE 5/1: Attleboro police say the motorcyclist is now “stable” at the hospital.
