Burrillville fire crews respond to trailer fire Tuesday night

BURRILLVILLE, R.I. (WLNE) — Investigators are working to learn more about a fire in Burrillville that was reported Tuesday night.

According to the Burrillville fire chief, crews were called to a wooded area behind an auto shop on South Main Street just after 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night.

Firefighters found a small trailer on fire, and two people were able to get out safely, though one had minor smoke inhalation.

A firefighter was also injured, but they’re expected to recover.

The trailer is a total loss and fire officials say the fire could have started at one of the encampments in the woods nearby.

The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
