UPDATE: Bristol County DA identifies body found in Taunton’s Mill River

TAUNTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Authorities have identified the body found in the Mill River on April 25, according to a statement from Bristol County District District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III.

Samuel Stovall, 51, was discovered in the river at 3:40 p.m. Friday, with Massachusetts State Police and Taunton police detectives responding to the call.

Arriving officers to the area behind 43 Chandler Avenue located the body of Stovall, which showed obvious signs of decomposition.

Stovall was known to Taunton police to be homeless and often in the area.

His death is not considered suspicious at this time, but the investigation is ongoing.
