Last Sunny Day for a While

Thursday is a special day in Sothern New England. Not only is it the first day of May, it’s the last fully sunny day we are expecting for a while. High pressure keeps the sun shining and temperatures will be seasonable hitting the mid-60s this afternoon. A warm front approaches tonight with increasing clouds and the occasional shower and even the chance of a thunderstorm. Overnight lows will drop to near 50. The unsettled weather pattern settles in starting Friday as we start off with patchy fog, scattered showers and the chance of thunderstorms. This activity ends by early afternoon and we expect the clouds to break in areas away from the coast. Those areas that get sunshine will also see temperatures in the 70s. The weekend starts with mostly cloudy skies and a chance of showers and thunderstorms with highs in the 70s. Saturday night into Sunday will also be an active time for showers. Look for mostly cloudy skies and temps hitting 70 in the afternoon. Turning the corner into next week, we continue the unsettled trend of mostly cloudy skies with the occasional chance of showers and temperatures in the 60s.
