SWANSEA, Mass. (WLNE) — Swansea police have arrested a town man for allegedly filming a nude 17-year-old girl in a Target store fitting room.

John Michael Williams, 25, was arrested Wednesday on charges of photographing sexual or intimate parts of a child, possession of child pornography and disorderly conduct, according to Swansea police.

The incident occurred on Monday at approximately 8 p.m. when police responded to a report of a teenager being filmed in the fitting room at the Grand Army of the Republic Highway store.

Through their investigation, Swansea police identified Williams as the suspect, who they say had filmed the girl using his cell phone.

Target surveillance video and an image of the suspect posted to social media aided in identifying Williams as the suspect in the incident.

Williams was arrested at his residence in Swansea Wednesday night and his cell phone was seized as evidence.

“This kind of invasive and disturbing behavior has no place in our community,” said Swansea Police Department Chief Mark Foley.

“We take incidents like this very seriously and will always work to protect the most vulnerable members of our community.”

Williams will be arraigned Thursday at Fall River District Court.
