North Providence Town Council President Dino Autiello and Councilor Stefano Famiglietti both said they were also considering running for the seat.
“I am giving serious consideration to running for the Senate District 4 seat,” Autiello said.
Meanwhile, Famiglietti said that his consideration came due to the fact that most of the district was in North Providence.
“As you know, the district is mostly North Providence and consideration for this seat comes from a place of making sure that the seat is filled by another strong North Providence voice to continue the advocacy for our community that we had from Sen. Ruggerio,” he said.
The Rhode Island Board of Elections will vote to decide the date for the special election to fill the seat on May 6.
