ABC6 runs Rhode Races 5K

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Races held its annual Providence marathon, half marathon, and 5K on Sunday.

The races saw 1,465 participants run through Bold Point Park in East Providence.

Members of the ABC6 staff ran in the race to support Aidan and Evan Fahlman, twin Chariho High School wrestlers who recently lost of both of their parents.

The winner for the marathon was Samuel Whittaker of Salem, Conn., the winner of the half marathon was Colin Rooney of Manchester, Conn., and the winner of the 5K was ABC6 Anchor/Reporter Ryan Medeiros.
